Title:

Automobile Terminology in Different Countries

Description:

There are several differences in word usage for the terms used to describe American cars versus the terms used in England. For example, a bonnet is the English term for the American hood. An English boot is an American trunk. While Americans will often call the glass that covers the front window of a car a "windshield," other English-speaking countries have a different term for that part of a vehicle and will often call it a windscreen. Just like windshield repair kits would be bought in the United States, other countries might choose to call them windscreen repair kits.
