There are many different types of smoking options available to smokers today from classic cigars to flavored cigarettes to an electronic cigarette that doesn't even puff out any smoke when it's used. The earliest cigarettes to be used on the planet were almost identical to their cousin, the cigar. The only real difference between early cigarettes and cigars was that the cigarettes that originated in South America were often filled with psychoactive drugs when used by the Maya and Aztec civilizations. Interestingly there are engravings and carvings in Mexico that depict ancient Mayans smoking from very early cigarettes.
